We believe in advancing the frontier of freedom, one startup at a time.

Our Principles

We Believe in America

We believe in the enduring promise of America and our national heritage. We believe in the American Idea, American System and the legacy of the American Revolution.

We Believe in Civic & Moral Responsibility

We believe that investing in aerospace and defense demands the highest level of civic and moral responsibility toward our fellow citizens, our nation, and God.

We Believe in the Boundless Promise of American Innovation

We reject zero-sum thinking and scarcity mentalities in venture. We firmly believe this century will see frontier tech unleash unparalleled innovation and prosperity. There is no limit to the number of unicorns; only the capital and will to fund them.

We Seek to Have the Courage to Use Our Own Reason

We live by Immanuel Kant’s motto ‘sapere aude’ and heed his call to think for ourselves. We don’t care if our thinking is contrarian, consensus or popular; we care that it is right.

We Believe That Capital Must Bend to Startups, Not the Other Way Around

We believe that over the next few decades America’s capital markets will have to become more innovative and unique, coming up with new ways of investing rather than simply making every opportunity fit into the current methodological boundaries of VC.

We Believe in El Segundo and Southern California

We believe that El Segundo and the South Bay have fifty years of growth ahead of it, with room for dozens of unicorns by the end of this century.

We Believe in Early-Stage Venture

We reject the naysayers who doubt the long-term prospects for early stage venture. We deeply believe in the long-term wealth-creation potential of early-stage venture.

We Reject Short-Term Thinking

We believe that the best startups in A&D will require many years of support and leadership to reach their full potential, and we adopt a long term perspective with every investment.

We Believe That Aerospace and Defense Investing Is Its Own Asset Class

We look at defense and aerospace startups as a distinct asset class with its own unique features and we refuse to make A&D startups fit the mold of ZIRP era practices.
